Why Choose Us?

If you’ve looked into owning your own business, the sheer variety of choice can be daunting. How do you determine what is the best opportunity for you?

With over 25 years of successful operation to our credit, the Price Attack brand is one of the best known in Australia. Price Attack is a franchised business that operates within the haircare and retail industries.

The benefits of franchising

Franchised businesses have a higher success rate than most small businesses and are typically more profitable from the outset. When you buy into a franchise, you buy into an established network with an established name and established systems. Being part of a larger group also allows you to tap into the benefits of economies of scale (so you get better deals because there are more of you).

One of the key advantages of franchising is that you have the support of a team of experts to guide you to success. This is often referred to being in business for yourself, but not all by yourself.

The benefits of the haircare industry

The hair care industry is one of the most dynamic, fun and profitable industries in Australia. Importantly, it is also one of the more recession resistant. Consumer and financial research, historical trends analysis and Price Attack’s own sales performance has demonstrated that, for most women, haircare is considered an essential purchase, not a luxury.

Whats Involved?

If you are interested in owning a Price Attack franchise you will need to fill in a Franchise Application Form and a Confidentiality Agreement. At this point we will meet with you to discuss your experience, your goals and expectations and any current opportunities we believe will match up with what you are looking for.

Depending upon the application, it may be necessary to have two or three interviews in order to answer every question or to develop an accurate understanding of what’s involved in owning a Price Attack. One of these interviews may involve an in-store experience day where prospective franchisees will spend a day working alongside an existing mentor franchisee in a Price Attack store.

Once your application has been approved, we will provide you with a copy of our Franchise Agreement, the Franchising Code of Conduct and other Disclosure Documents. We strongly recommend you obtain independent legal, accounting and business advice in relation to all material provided. When it comes to financing your business, we can put you in touch with a number of financial institutions that provide accredited funding to Price Attack franchisees.

Once the 14 day Disclosure Period has passed andyou are satisfied you understand all of the requirements and mutual obligations of the Price Attack Franchise system, you will sign and return all documentation together with the initial franchise fee ($50,000) and the training fee ($5,000).

FAQ's

What are the initial costs?

This will vary from site to site but on average you should budget on approximately $450,000 to set up a brand new Price Attack. The biggest component of this initial amount is the shop-fit which is about $2,500/m2. This amount also includes the initial franchise fee, training, stock (think 6,000 different hair and beauty products!), legals, point of sale equipment and marketing materials. You will not need to have all this money upfront, however you should have a minimum of $200,000 in equity.

Are there any ongoing costs?

Price Attack franchisees pay an ongoing royalty of 5% of gross sales. Franchisees also contribute 3% of gross sales into a national advertising fund.

Do I have to work in the business?

Yes. We believe (and history has shown) that Price Attack stores are more successful and profitable when the franchisee is actively involved in the operation of the business.

Can I own more than one Price Attack?

Definitely. Price Attack has a number of very special franchisees who manage to successfully operate multiple Price Attack stores. It is not an easy feat to accomplish and we are very careful in who we approve as multi-unit franchisees. If you are keen to take over the world, one Price Attack at a time, we love your enthusiasm! But we will also need to review your very detailed business plan that explains exactly how you are going to do it.

Do I need any hair or beauty experience?

Nope. Our franchisees come from all sorts of backgrounds and currently more than 50% are not hairdressers. Our most important criteria for new franchisees is a positive, people-person attitude. Our comprehensive training and ongoing support will give you the rest of the tools you need to run a successful Price Attack.

Four weeks training?! are you negotiable on that?

No way. Too many people enter a new business without adequate skills and knowledge to make a success of their new venture. It doesn’t matter if you have hairdressing experience or have previously owned a business – all new franchisees are to receive four weeks training. If you don’t think you have anything left to learn.. you are not the right franchisees for us.

How long does the whole process take?

Depending upon how long it takes to get any finance approved, the process can take 8 weeks or more.
