Natural Balance Shampoo

• Organic apple cider vinegar (ACV) – naturally lowers the pH of the hair, closing and sealing the cuticle, locking in colour and leaving hair noticeably softer. In addition, hair feels more manageable, shinier, less frizzy and overall healthier looking. Being slightly astringent, ACV helps cleanse the scalp and reduce oiliness.
• Organic argan oil – sustainably sourced fair-trade organic Moroccan argan oil is rich in antioxidants and vitamin E keeping hair smooth, soft and repaired.
• Organic aloe vera – packed with vitamins and minerals, this rich natural gel moisturizes and calms the skin.
• Acacia concinna fruit extract – a mild cleansing agent.
• Desert date (balanites aegyptiaca) – derived from a tree grown in tropical Africa, it’s a gentle cleansing agent with unsaturated fatty acids that moisturize and nourish hair.
• Gypsophila – a gentle cleansing agent.
• Essential oil fragrance blend – rosemary, lemongrass, clary sage and lavender.

• Sulfates – formulated with gentle, colour-safe surfactants, which cleanse with incredible lather.
• Salt (sodium chloride) – most shampoos use salt as a thickener, which dries out your hair. AG shampoos are naturally thicker without the addition of salt, leaving your hair healthy, shiny and hydrated.
• DEA – a foaming agent used in shampoos, which has been placed on a watch list by the FDA. We have proactively removed this ingredient from all of our shampoos and replaced it with a naturally derived ingredient sourced from rapeseed oil.
• Parabens – used as preserving agents and have been shown to be a concern to human health. We use gentle cosmetic grade preservatives with a worldwide safety approval.
• PABA (or para-aminobenzoic acid) – one of the first sunblocks widely available for purchase in the 1970’s. PABA has been found to be an irritant to the skin.
• Gluten – all AG products are 100% gluten-free.
• Synthetic fragrances – fragrance is 100% formulated with a blend of essential oils.
• Silicones – formulated with pea peptide and argan oil, sweet almond oil, millet seed extract, linseed extract, olive oil extract which naturally coat the hair, seal in moisture and add shine.
• MEA/TEA – thickening agents, Balance uses plant-based cellulose to naturally thicken the consistency of the formula.
• Butylene glycol, propylene glycol – dispersing agent, formulated instead with essential oils.
• Paraffins – a smoothing agent, formulated instead with argan oil.
• Polyquaterniums – a conditioning agent, formulated instead with pea peptide.
