This hair straightener is very good for the price. It heats up very quickly and all the control buttons are on the side, which I like. The on/off button is in the middle and the buttons on each side of that turn the heat up and down in 10-degree increments. After you select the desired heat, you'll see the red LED display count upward to that temperature. The temperature ranges from 130-230 degrees. Temperatures above 180 degrees can damage hair and I found that 170 degrees was ideal for my fine hair. I used a protective heat styling spray, too. If you're considering this straightener, it's a good budget buy, especially since other brands can cost a few hundred dollars more. Well done, Mermade - happy camper here!
