What is K18?

K18 is a breakthrough in biosciences. K18Peptide™ was patented after scanning and analyzing 1,242 decapeptides that cover the entire genome of human keratin proteins. How does K18 work?

Hair is like many different ladders that have been twisted to create the keratin chain, these ladders stay in place as a result of disulfide bonds. When damaged, these ladders are broken on just a rung of the ladder, rather the entire ladder icluding the runners and connections between multiple ladders may break.

Traditional hair care products only focus on creating temporary bridges between rungs of a ladder (the ionic crosslink across the broken disulfide bonds), which typically washes away with any alkaline agent such as water or shampoo without any mechanism to support the sides of the ladder (broken keratin chains).

K18 is the first peptide that effectively connects the broken keratin chains, meaning it provides permanent results that repair and heal hair. K18 repairs the broken keratin chains by penetrating the cortex and reconforming the disulfide bonds across the sides of ladders, reconnecting the broken keratin chains. Hair is repaired and restored to a near undamaged state of strength and elasticity.

The do's and do not's for K18

• Do use a clarifying shampoo if you’re a heavy product or dry shampoo user.
• Do dry thoroughly with hair towel or turban before application.
• Do wait the full 4 minutes before styling or applying another product.
• Do use every 4-6 shampoos consecutively to see and feel the full results.
• Don’t condition your hair before applying K18.
• Don't use too much.
• Don't rinse it out.

How to use K18

1. Shampoo, do not condition. Towel dry until damp.
2. Begin with 1 pump of K18 Mask and add more as needed depending on the length, thickness, and condition. Work evenly into hair, one pump at a time, from ends to roots.
3. Let sit for 4 minutes to activate.
4. Do not rinse out. Style as usual.
